Phantom 13th zone on app, or app not communicating with evohome screen.
If you experience problems when registering your evohome device details, always make sure you have not forgotten to connect it to your wifi network and it is connected to the internet.
Try a different browser like chrome or firefox - safari is supported but sometimes it will not work.
If your evohome screen has been connected to your app but has stopped showing temperatures, log into your account via a browser not the app and delete the location that is not communicating. Then create the location again and enter the device details of the evohome screen ( mac code and CRC code ) This normally fixes the problem.
We have noticed that some of our customers have managed to create a 13th zone 'the phantom 13th zone' on the app but not on the evohome screen ?? Sounds crazy and impossible but it has happened. This zone does not show any temperatures but must confuse the system. Just log into your account and delete the location and then create the location again and register the evohome screen device codes ( mac code and CRC code ) these are located on the screen behind the front facia. The facia frame just pulls off to reveal the mac code etc.

Position of BDR91 relay units
Customers often say there are glitches in the programming of my evohome system and it's doing strange things - there are no problems with the evohome screen programming, honeywell would not do this, it's always the installation. We have installed hundreds of evohome systems and it's never the screen causing the problem.
Follow these simple rules:
- Never ever ever ever ever ever install the relay units next to each other !!
- Always fit them at least 400mm apart, find a way to do this, it's vital.
- Try to use one of the existing heating control cables, i.e.. room stat. ( you only need 3 cores L,N and switched live )
- Never fit them right next to a boiler, pipework or cables.
- Never fit them near any other wireless units.
- Try to get the relay units close to where the evohome screen will be. Try not to have all the relay units at one end of the house and the screen at the other end, give the system a chance.
- This is so important, follow his advice and you system will work really well.
- Do not think you are smarter than this advice it will not work !

What our customers say about evohome:
Dear Alastair, (connected home uk )
I am writing to let you know how happy we are with the installation and operation of the Honeywell Evohome heating control system. The service and advice you gave from the initial contact to completion was exceptional, even when we had a problem after installation your response was quick and professional. The problem turned out to be a problem with one of my existing valves that was not fitted buy yourself.
We now have total control of each room in our house. Rooms that we only use on an occasional basis are now only heated as and when we require. As you know we don't have a set daily routine, so being able to easily switch on or off the system remotely is a great feature. Although we didn't purchase the system to save money, we wanted better control, I believe it is already using less fuel then before.
If you have any prospective customers that have not made up their minds yet and would like to speak to someone using the system, we would be happy to assist.
Thanking you once again, best wishes for Christmas and new year,
Mike & Pat Smith
